Goodbye 2017. Hello to a fresh new year. It’s now the time where we must look back at the last 12 months, think about all the good things and be thankful (if you follow me on Instagram you’d have seen my little highlights round up, super original concept I know). Now it’s time to give a little shoutout to my top beauty products of the year, the ones that have seen me through early morning eye bags, late night shiny skin and are generally trust worthy to ensure I look half decent.
IT Cosmetics CC Cream. One of my most used and most loved bases of the year, even though I know everyone and their dog uses this already! It’s quite a thick gel like consistency that gives medium coverage and a beautiful glow. It’s taken top spot due to it’s ability to replicate natural skin to give the perfect ‘no-makeup makeup’. Luckily IT Cosmetics has launched at Selfridges so I no longer need to save up for a plane ticket to the US for when I run out!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow. Another classic and one I’ve been using for a few years, but my brows just can’t live without it. However special mention to the shade Taupe, it’s a lovely cool tone that with a light hand works well for fair brows or can be built up for that deep strong brow. Taking bets now that this will be in my favourites next year too.
MAC Whirl Lip Liner. I’ve already written a post *love letter* about Whirl Lip Liner here. It’s the perfect shade for faking a plumper pout and the only liner I’ve reached for all year. You should have seen my face when I found it in the York Outlet at a bargain price! If you don’t have this liner, go and buy it now, like right now.
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer. As a previous acne sufferer I’ve tried a lot of concealers over the years, but Pro Longwear has snuck back in as a fave. It’s extremely light and thin in texture, but packs a punch in terms of coverage. However the reason it’ll never leave my makeup bag is down to it’s lasting power, it really is longwear *Duh*.
Too Faced Milk Chocolate Bronzer. If you have a similar skin tone to me (VVV pale) then this is the bronzer for you. No orangey tones in sight, instead you’re left with a golden bronze. I go from looking slightly ill pre-makeup, to post weekend in Barcelona!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Ethereal Light. Another long time fave to finish this roundup. I’m yet to find a better powder than this one, it’s so finely milled, takes down any shine without making the skin matte and dull. As you can see I’m scraping the sides but seeing as I’ve had this literally since the dawn of my blog back in 2013 it’s pretty good going! Cost per wear and all that.
Please do let me know your faves of 2017! I also hope you like the new blog design and it’s fab features like the cheeky shop section below!
