Okay, so let’s not lie, this was supposed to be a festive makeup post. However as we all know I’ve been terrible at blogging lately so here we are in the new year wearing a red lip. But this got me thinking, why do I wear the exact same neutral makeup all year long until December 1st rolls around? Why don’t I wear a bright lip more often? I blooming love this makeup look, so I’m determined to not let the bold lips gather dust this year.
Base. When wearing a bright lip I find it best to keep the base quite pared back. Okay when I say pared back I still mean enough concealer to cover those bags, bronzer to make me look human and highlighter to blind everyone around me. Eyes and Brows. Bold lip = bold brows, am I right? Well I love bold brows no matter the occasion, but when rocking a bright lip I always feel like I need a little extra balance. This goes for lashes too, I’ve skipped the eyeshadow and instead opted for a subtle set of lashes. Lip. The main event and the reason we’re all here. The red lip. This is hands down my favourite bright lip formula and the only one I can stand to wear (who actually wears a glossy bright lip without tearing their hair out?). No need to line your lips before applying and only minor touch ups needed after eating a Greggs pasty (we like to conduct thorough product testing here at Dinosaur Dances).
